The more things change…

Some people will do *anything* to gain political advantage.

Some people will do *anything* to gain political advantage.

Nice point made by Chris Muir over at Day by Day.

I’ve got nothing terribly important to add, save that the “race card” playing is getting a little thin.

Spread the (new) good word

Dan Savage, in his sex advice column Savage Love, is in the habit of coining new words describing sexual acts and details–filling in the gaps in the language as it were–while at the same time not-so-gently skewering political or religious nonsense. He does this in an adroit style that is rather fun to read.

His newest effort is the term “saddlebacking“, which means (per the web site):

Saddlebacking: sad•dle•back•ing \ˈsa-dəl-ˈba-kiŋ\ vb [fr. Saddleback Church] (2009): the phenomenon of Christian teens engaging in unprotected anal sex in order to preserve their virginities
After attending the Purity Ball, Heather and Bill saddlebacked all night because she’s saving herself for marriage. Unfortunately her parents found out because they got santorum all over the sheets.

(Please note that, in my efforts to investigate the details of this and other witty proclamations, I had to look up the definition of Savage’s term “santorum”, mentioned in the example. It means…well, look for yourself.

Oh, and spread the word. (Or words, in this case.)

Is it any wonder?

The neoconservatives have not clue one.

“I didn’t like the line in the [inaugural] speech about how we didn’t have to compromise our values to protect ourselves. Sometimes we do.”
