Fox News has demanded that Youtube remove all clips of their broadcasts, and Youtube has complied.
The official excuse is “copyright violation”. The real reason is that doing so prevents anyone from disclosing to the public what moronic opinions pass for “news” on Fox. It prevents other sites (including mine) from underlining the rating-hungry wingnuttery that passes for “fair and balanced reporting” at Fox News. It allows for deniability (“I didn’t say that!”), the shield of the extremist.
Control the present and you control the past. George Orwell was, unfortunately, rather prophetic.
