Denial is more than a big river in Egypt

Poor Linda Harvey. It appears that her entire cerebral cortex has shut down, since in her world there is no such thing as a gay man, or a lesbian woman, or a bisexual person, or transgendered people.

In response to GLSEN’s call for

“creating and maintaining an athletic and physical education climate that is based on the core principles of respect, safety and equal access for all students, teachers and coaches regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression”

Ms. Harvey of Mission America simply denies everything:

“There’s one big fact that’s not backed up. There is no proof that there’s ever anything like a gay, lesbian or bisexual or transgendered child, or teen or human. One of the other things you’re gonna see as I mentioned is a big campaign GLSEN’s gonna roll out this year calling for ‘respect,’ respect! Not just for people, but for homosexual lifestyle. The PR campaign to hold up gay as a good thing: the lifestyle, not the person, because there are no such humans.”

(Tell Dan Savage and Joe Jervis that, lady, but be prepared to duck and run.)

It’s such a shame when a human brain retreats into its own little world, where inconvenient truths and undeniable facts never get in the way of its delusions.

Hey, that reminds me a story about Rick Perry…

The woman denies the existence of anyone who genuinely feels same-sex attraction and wishes to act upon those feelings; she takes the presumption that people just “act” like homosexuals (her phrase is “practicing the homosexual lifestyle).

Denial can be an ugly thing.

    good (although frightening) article.
a side note… the quote at the top- “WHEN FASCISM COMES TO AMERICA IT WILL COME WRAPPED IN A FLAG AND CARRYING A CROSS.” — SINCLAIR LEWIS

Lewis never said it or wrote it- someone faked it. It is a wonderful quote- but it is not from Lewis. (no really, google it.) Cheers.
